~ BIRTH OF THIS COLLECTION ~

 

At the beginning of the years 1980, I saw at the time of a voyage in Italy, about thirty exposed jugs, that a spirit small shopkeeper had received few representatives.

 

In 1990, after having been during several years restorer in a country inn, I took again the management of a club-house of a bank of the place.

 

Gathering my old hardware with that which was at disposal, I found afflicting that on a total of five jugs, all were different.

 

I thus had fun to observe in each place the jugs used, by thinking that I could join together some in the neighbourhoods of seventy (sixty ten for the foreigners!).

 

With leaving one fifteen years period during which I had tied links with considerable representatives and colleagues tenants of bars, restaurants or dance hall, I had already joined together at the end of the first year, in the neighbourhoods of one hundred twenty parts.

 

In addition, the network of my friends also contributed as of the first times and still today, with the enrichment of this collection.

 

Then " the gears came ", namely the secondhand trades and the flea markets local and thereafter those more and more far.

 

Since 1999, the access to the Internet and by there, the sites of auction sales Europeans and Anglo-Saxons, as well as the exchanges with others impassioned, packs each month this collection.

 

However, force is to note that like all the collections, even if it is indicative, it is very far from being exhaustive!

 

Total at the end of 2000: approximately 500 Scotch's, Canadian's and Irish's.
